Working Capital to Fulfill a Large New Order
The order that could transform the business is usually the order the business cannot afford to fill. Materials, labor, and production all precede payment, and the customer who placed a career-making PO is frequently the customer with the longest payment terms. Turning it down protects this quarter and costs the relationship permanently.
Working capital to fulfill an order larger than your balance sheet. Fund materials, labor, and production for a career-making PO without giving up equity.

A PO four times larger than anything before it
A specialty packaging manufacturer doing roughly $6M annually received a $2.4M order from a national retailer, payable net-60 after delivery. Raw materials and contract labor required $1.35M starting immediately. Equity investors offered capital at a valuation the owner considered insulting for what was a 90-day timing gap. We placed $1.4M against the PO and the resulting receivable at a total cost of roughly 3.8% of the order value. The owner kept 100% of the company and the account has since become their largest recurring customer.
